Dave’s approach to composing is inspired by his desire to communicate his feelings and moods to his audience or to tell a story through music. By continuing to explore fresh, new sounds and styles, he creates his “musical theaters” by combining his imagination with craft.

His work encompasses classical to jazz-rock fusion utilizing any instrumentation or genre; composing for string quartet, piano, jazz ensembles, orchestra, contemporary dance, film and commercial TV.

After receiving his Bachelor of Music Education he continued studies in New York at the Julliard School of Music as a percussion major, piano minor, and privately studied composition and jazz piano. As a composer Dave is a member of ASCAP and has received grants from the Wisconsin Arts Foundation and Milwaukee Artist Board in a variety of genres.

As a performer Dave played at Carnegie Hall with the New York Youth Symphony, Lincoln Center and toured playing keyboard with various groups appearing with the Miami and Detroit symphonies. He has also taught jazz theory and electronic music at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.

He currently lives in Scottsdale, AZ.
